Maintaining your own Website
This course is aimed at businesses who wish to take control of their own Web site and need to learn basic Web design skills in order to do so. Course contents will include gaining access to your Web site, choosing appropriate software (such as Microsoft FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver or a content management system) and effective design principles. The course will provide a brief overview of HTML code, but this is not a major part of the course.
The process of making changes to a Web site will then be covered and attendees will learn Web design skills by working on Web pages within Dreamweaver. This will include file naming conventions, creating pages, tables, inserting images, text and formatting, backgrounds, hyperlinks, installing HTML code, Meta Tags and Alt Tags, template based design and uploading of Web sites to the Internet.
